An initial 30,000 local and overseas employment opportunities are available to jobseekers on June 12 at the Senior Citizens’ Garden in Rizal Park, Manila, the labor department has reported.
The said venue is one of the 19 Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) job and business fair sites nationwide, which were organized in commemoration of the 120th anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.
In a report from Regional Director Henry John Jalbuena of the DOLE National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR), a total of 73 participating employers (45 local, 20 overseas, and 8 government agencies) will be bringing with them 29,751 local, overseas, and government jobs.
The local jobs with the most number of vacancies are in the fields of construction, transportation, and sales.
Among the vacancies in the construction industry are CIP installers, welders, masons/finishing masons, carpenters, leadman, scaffolders, painter, steelman, tinsmith, and tilesetter.
Other vacancies are for the positions of drivers, mechanics, and bus conductors in the field of transportation; and customer service consultants, pharmacy assistants, financial consultants, merchandisers, and cashiers in the field of sales and service.
For those seeking overseas employment, the top vacancies are for the positions of service/hotel workers, general labor/technician, forecourt (petrol filler), butcher (supermarket), hospital workers, nurses, engineers, labor workers, sales personnel, and carpenters.
Meanwhile, the vacancies in the government sector are for the positions of Architect, Planning Assistant, Attorney, Project Evaluation Officer, Draftsman, Stenographic Reporter, Engineer, Stenographer, Planning Officer, and Traffic Constable at the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA); Fire Officer I at the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP); and Administrative, Technical, Supervisory, and Division Chief level positions at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
There are also vacancies for Officer and Enlisted Personnel, Civilian Employee, Naval Officer Candidate Course, Basic Seaman Course, and Marine Basic Course at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP); Supervising History Researcher, Supervising Science Research Specialist, Science Research Technician, Museum Researchers, Museum Technicians, History Researchers, Historic Sites Development Officers, Architects, Engineers, Shrine Curators, Museum Guides, Administrative Aide, and Administrative Assistant at the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP); and Technical Staff, Senior Programmer, Planning Officer, Project Development Officer, Supervising Accounts Specialist, Community Development Officers, and Project Evaluation Officer at the Social Housing Finance Corp.
There will be pre-employment services from the Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will also be offering free haircut and massage services.
The 2018 Independence Day is observed with the theme, “Kalayaan 2018 Pagbabagong Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan.”
